East Coast Wizards Strength and Conditioning
The East Coast Wizards are excited to announce the opening of a full-time strength and conditioning facility at the Edge Sports Center beginning in April of 2016. This state of the art facility will be staffed by a full-time strength coach tasked to train our 1,300 athletes playing on Wizard club teams in ice hockey, field hockey and lacrosse. Programs will be designed and implemented to help our athletes achieve sport-specific goals throughout their developmental life-cycle. Additionally, non-affiliated athletes will also have access to our facilities and programs to achieve their respective goals.
Wizards Strength and Conditioning is dedicated to providing our athletes with the ultimate in sports performance programs. Our goal is to ensure that every athlete walking through the Edge Sports Center is given the opportunity to excel. Wizards Strength and Conditioning offers training in strength, speed, agility and injury prevention for all athletes. As a competitive athlete, it is vital to ensure that proper muscle development and stretching is done on a regular basis.
Wizard Strength and Conditioning will offer year-round programs that are integrated into each athlete’s season. Some of these are outlined below. For more information on the programs, including registration, please go to the following pages.
Pre-Season Development Programs:
Wizards Strength and Conditioning will be offered to athletes looking to prepare for their upcoming season, regardless of the sport. Programs are developed for these athletes to ensure that they are in the best preparation for their upcoming season and will run for 6 weeks prior to their start. These programs will concentrate on speed, agility and injury prevention training for the athlete’s specific sport.
Wizards Youth Programs:
Strength and Conditioning training will be offered to all Wizard teams/programs in order to develop basic knowledge of speed and strength conditioning. This is important for all youth athletes to ensure their muscle development is in line with their growth as they enter puberty. Sessions will be a progression of training through their season with the end goal being to move on to the next form of training involving resistance bands and core training.
Additional Wizards Strength and Conditioning Programs:
For an additional cost, 1 on 1 programs will be offered to athletes that are interested in expanding their strength training beyond the designated team programs. These 6-week sessions will benefit any athlete with the desire and willingness to maximize their own athletic ability.
Extensive summer programs will be offered to build the strength and speed necessary to prepare athletes for future seasons.
